4th gr embroidery & X-stitch

I'm putting my February conference kantha embroidery here as it seems to fit in with the embroidery category. I made it from a handkerchief that was my dad's. He died in November 2021 so this was a way of making a memorial to him. I did most of the embroidery on what would have been his 83rd birthday in February. I used a verse from the Bible parable of the prodigal son, which was important to my dad. The corner symbols refer to our Irish ancestry and the form in the middle isn't specifically meaningful apart from playing with the possibility of finding a heart shape within the geometry of an eight-sided form.
