Transitions as Thresholds

With Penni Sparks
September 4, 11, 18, & 25, 2026
4:00 - 5:30 pm Pacific Time
Registration $60 USD

Whether I’m moving from one idea to another, one activity to another, or one room to another, a smooth transition is always optimal. In each case, I imagine a threshold with a doorway and a key to unlock it to gain entry into where I want to go next.

These 4 skills classes will take a deeper look at creating smooth transitions in all we do and how to set up for success, so others may follow our lead.

Be certain to bring your own best and challenging transitions between classes, activities, or instructors.

We will make time to both create and share our best practices with one another. These classes are designed for educators of any subject.

Penni Sparks is a 41-year veteran Waldorf 1-12 educator. Most recently she’s the former director of Haleakala Waldorf High School; the former Pedagogical Director of Kona Pacific Public Charter School; the former faculty member of Rudolf Steiner College’s Summer Teacher Trainings, Public School Institute, and Waldorf Court and Community School Teacher Trainings. She taught high school drama, choir, English, math, history, and astronomy for 10 years before stepping-in as a class teacher to graduate 8 eighth grades.

Penni is a well-traveled Waldorf teacher evaluator, public speaker, workshop leader, and consultant to teachers, parents, and administration. Her unique approach is dedicated to inspiring human beings to greater confidence and kindness by encouraging adults to take up their own inner work to be a model human being for their students and children.

Today Penni is retired and a published author (The ABC’s of Being Human) who writes where she lives, on the side of a volcano overlooking the ocean in Kailua Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. She is friend-rich, however her best friend is one of her former students, her son Alexander, who is living his dream as an accomplished concept artist in LA.  She loves Waldorf education and the human beings it allowed her students, her son, and herself to become. Her next book is coming out in the spring of 2026.
