Handwork Curriculum Guides

Do you need help with teaching handwork? Are you a new teacher, or an experienced teacher who wants to explore more? A homeschooler? Offering after-school enrichment? Are you wondering how to set realistic and developmentally appropriate goals? Are you looking for more ways to bring imagination, images, music and movement into your handwork classes?

Handwork will offer a balance to academic learning. Children see tangible results of their success and the rhythmical, repetitive, movements will provide a respite from everyday challenges and troubles children might experience. Three-dimensional thinking and problem- solving, perseverance, and focus will strengthen the foundations for academic excellence.

Even if you don't know how to knit. This guide will teach you so you can teach your children. Build up your skills and feel confident in sharing handwork with your own children or a whole class.

We will help you and guide you in selecting appropriate projects; setting the students up for success; pacing your teaching; staying ahead of the skills you will be teaching and so much more! We provide background information on child development and the foundations of the handwork curriculum; grade-level patterns accompanied by step-by-step videos; teaching strategies; classroom management; and practical tips on managing time, resources, and expectations which will support you in your teaching all year long.

Learn from Elizabeth and Shellie with 50+ years of combined successful – and joyful – experience teaching Waldorf-informed handwork in public, private, and homeschool settings.
