About the event

Our theme this year is the IMAGE OF THE HUMAN BEING IN THE HANDWORK CURRICULUM, and we will be focusing (but not exclusively) on doll-making in the ‘middle grades’: 6,7,8, in both conferences. Some sessions will be pre-recorded, and some live, some practical, and some digging deeper into the curriculum. There will also be an optional afternoon studio time/ discussion session from 2-3.

We are pleased to announce our guest teachers Betty Staley (Tending the Spark); Christine Schreier (Puppenstube); Dahlia Haberman (hand sewing/ heavy baby); Jennifer Aguirre (puppetry curriculum); Samiah Hinton (SamiahFineClothing.com - drafting clothing patterns); Hana Khatib (Pepper and Pine) on photographing and video-ing your work for online presentation; discussion and sharing of best practices.

Note: this year, our first online conference, at short notice, the timeline is tight, so you are responsible for your own supplies. A list of easily procurable supplies will be sent when registration is…
