Crochet coaster

I crocheted this project using 100% wool yarn in white and purple from the same yarn range/collection by the same manufacturer. On the label, it mentioned to hand wash with cold water only. But I wet-felted this piece three times and the white yarn part seemed to remain the same while the purple yarn part changed in its texture.

This is the first time I tried my hand at wet-felting and I am pleasantly surprised at the change I saw in my stitches. It reminds me of the 9 years old's change (with my basic understanding) and how resilience and courage develop after experiencing a challenge (the agitation when wet felting the crocheted square).
