When the Classroom Door Opens – Child Development and Its Essential Milestones

As subject teachers, we journey through the grades, encountering students at distinct stages of development. What is each class truly asking of us? To meet them with authenticity and depth, we are called to undergo our own inner transformation before stepping into their world. In this 75-minute session, we will explore the archetypal qualities of each grade, examine the unique developmental needs of students, and consider how to set meaningful goals for nurturing their souls through our subject teaching.

Though this be Madness, there be Method in it!

New, part-time and many subject teachers are told repeatedly that Steiner-Waldorf education is not simply a method. But if I am not (yet) `in on the secret`, what methods - if any - are favoured in Steiner education and which are not? And why? And by exploring these methods, what will I learn about the education`s hidden depths?

4 Steps to Incarnating a Thriving Classroom

Rudolf Steiner offered four detailed stages of how the earth came into being as a template for us to use to bring anything into being. So why not use it as a means of bringing a classroom into being? We will go through these four stages to make certain your classroom has everything in place for your students to thrive.

The Art of Observation: Recognizing the Gifts of Canary Children

Description: Rudolf Steiner wanted us to closely observe the children in our care to remove any hindrances that are keeping them from being their best. Using the imagination of "a canary in a coal mine," we will take the time to recognize those responses in "canary children" that could be signals of the presence of a block or a lack that are distracting the whole class from being their best.
