Hibiscus and Lavender on Silk

I just finished a summer session with 10 children ages 6-8 and we dyed miniature silks from Sarah's Silks (I got super lucky and snagged them during a crazy sale!). The children used fresh lavender and dried hibiscus. They also tossed in some rose petals but that was more for fun and magic. We used a soy milk mordant and did not do an after-bath. Clockwise from top left: plain silk next to dyed silk, lavender-hibiscus-flower potion, silks drying (or being tossed around by brother wind).
